Duration - Half day
This course provides an understanding of the key principles of fire safety including fire prevention and action to be taken if a fire does break out.

Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
Duration - Half day
This course would be suitable for new starters and staff with little or no previous health and safety experience. It provides candidates with an awareness of the principles of working safely and the part that they play in keeping themselves and others from harm

Duration - One day
This course allows candidates to develop their fire safety awareness. It is particularly well suited for anybody with designated responsibilities such as fire marshals or those employed in industries with a significant risk of fire.

Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
Duration - One day
This course will be tailored to your business needs. Candidates will gain a good understanding of the principles of effective health and safety and ensure that they are aware of their own safety as well as that of customers, contractors and the public.

Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace Refresher
Duration – Half day
Candidates who hold the Level 2 award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (or similar) are recommended to take the refresher course every three years. This will encourage best practise in the workplace and allow the candidates to keep up-to-date with legal and other requirements.

Level 2 principles of COSHH
Duration – Half day
This qualification complements the CIEH Level 2 award in Health and Safety in the Workplace by introducing candidates to the safe management of risks posed by chemicals and other hazardous materials.
The course is aimed at those who manage or use hazardous substances in manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and offices.

Level 2 principles of Manual Handling
Duration – Half day
This qualification complements the CIEH Level 2 award in Health and Safety in the Workplace by introducing candidates to the risks involved in manual handling and the controls available.
The course is aimed at those who handle goods, boxes, mail and packaging in a range of workplaces as well as those responsible for managing these processes.

Level 2 principles of Risk Assessment
Duration – One day
This is a new course that will enable candidates to identify and manage risks in the workplace, understand the principles of risk assessment, and carry out effective risk assessments.
The course meets many of the requirements of Health and Safety legislation to provide a safe place of work, understand risk assessments and to ensure the competence of the workforce.

- Ability to contribute both to the maintenance of a safe work environment and to the process of formal risk assessment

Level 3 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
Duration – Three days
This course provides a thorough understanding of health and safety and is aimed at managers, supervisors and staff safety reps.
Candidates will be able to manage processes and staff, and implement cost effective controls to eliminate and reduce risks.
The course will encourage candidates to see effective health and safety as an integral part of business and manufacturing efficiency.

- Demonstrate an understanding of the main concepts of health and safety

Level 3 Risk Assessment Principles and Practice
Duration – 20 guided learning hours (minimum contact time seven hours). Typically this will entail three tutoring sessions totalling seven hours, arranged over a month or two.
Learning pre-requisite
Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace or similar.
This course provides a thorough understanding of accident prevention and management; the business costs of injuries; and the benefits of good health and safety management.
It is suitable for anyone with responsibility to conduct risk assessments such as:
- team leaders, supervisors, site managers and managers
- quality controllers
- technicians
- engineers
- health and safety specialists
- personnel contributing to the risk assessment process
This course will help businesses meet their obligation under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 which stipulates that employers with five or more employees need to conduct and record risk assessments.
Learning outcomes
- Conduct risk assessments (with the necessary technical knowledge in relation to the activities/ environments/issues)
- Organise and implement a risk assessment programme
- Participate in the identification of specific training needs for the activities being assessed
- Assist employers in meeting legal requirements and promote improved standards of health and safety within their organisation

Level 4 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
Duration – Five days
Learning pre-requisite
Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace or similar.
This qualification provides managers and supervisors with a detailed understanding of the principles and practise that underpin effective health and safety management.
It is also suitable for those wishing to deliver CIEH health and safety qualifications as part of their training provision.
Courses delivered at your workplace will include a half day analysis of your procedures and training needs to help us tailor the course to your requirements.
